Hyderabad. The politics of Telangana has become hot due to non-approval of Rahul Gandhi’s program in Osmania University. The university has banned Rahul’s campus visit. Regarding this, the Congress has showered allegations on the TRS government of the state. Due to this, there is every possibility of sabotaging the anti-Modi opposition unity. Recently, Telangana CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao changed his tone and said that he is not in favor of removing Modi from power. Talking about Rahul’s visit, the executive council of Osmania University did not approve Rahul’s program. After this some students have also moved the Telangana High Court and they have demanded approval for Rahul Gandhi’s visit.
Congress has said about Rahul Gandhi’s proposed program at Osmania University on April 23 that it was non-political. At the same time, the university administration said that since the year 2017, the Executive Council has banned non-academic activities in addition to political meetings on the campus. It has been told that the proposal was brought in June 2017 itself and then the High Court had asked the state government not to allow political and public meetings in the university in any way. Congress MLA from Sangareddy seat in Medak district, Jagga Reddy has accused the TRS government of pressurizing the university to stop Rahul’s visit. Jagga Reddy said that this university has always been the identity of the student movement.
Jagga said Rahul Gandhi’s visit was apolitical. At the same time, former Congress MP V. Hanumantha Rao has criticized the Osmania University administration and the TRS government for not giving approval to Rahul Gandhi’s visit. Rahul Gandhi is also scheduled to visit Warangal and Karimnagar on May 6. It remains to be seen whether these programs are also approved or the TRS government imposes any kind of restriction on them.
