New Delhi. A museum providing detailed information on the lives of all the Prime Ministers of India till date is ready. The Prime Minister’s Museum dedicated to former Prime Ministers will be inaugurated on April 14, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will inaugurate the Prime Minister’s Museum built in the national capital Delhi. The museum will showcase the work of the Prime Ministers of India and will also include the erstwhile building of the Nehru Museum building. Let us tell you that in the cabinet meeting chaired by PM Modi last month, it was decided to convert Nehru Museum into PM Museum.
What will happen in the museum?
The Nehru Memorial Museum in Teen Murti Bhawan and adjoining the library on 10,000 square meters of land, this museum will have collections related to former Prime Ministers. Rare photographs, speeches, video clips, newspapers, interviews and original writings of former prime ministers will be on display here. Culture ministry officials said the gallery of 14 former prime ministers has been allotted suitable space according to their tenure. In the former Prime Minister’s Museum, people will be able to listen to the speeches of the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as well as all the Prime Ministers till date. For this, the Ministry of Culture has purchased recordings of speeches of all the Prime Ministers from Prasar Bharati and made them available here. All the compilations of the speeches of the Prime Ministers so far, whether in the country or abroad, can be heard here.
The PM Museum will tell the story of India’s freedom struggle to the making of the Constitution. It has been told how our Prime Ministers rescued the country from various challenges and ensured all round progress of the country. Let us tell you that this Prime Minister’s museum has been built in the Nehru Museum built in the memory of Pandit Nehru. According to sources, this museum has been built at a cost of Rs 271 crore.
