Congress needs more leadership and collective will than me to fix its problems… This taunt of election strategist Prashant Kishor, while rejecting the offer to join the party, is enough to convince Congress the reality. Because, this is the second time within a year, when talks between Congress and Prashant Kishor broke down.
The main reason for this is believed to be lack of trust. Because, during the discussion on Prashant Kishor’s action plan, Congress leaders had made it clear that they would have to work only for the party by severing ties with other parties. A senior party leader said that without taking the Congress into confidence, Prashant went to Hyderabad to talk to the TRS and his company had entered into a campaign agreement.
According to a senior party leader, TRS leader KT Rama Rao’s statement after meeting Prashant Kishor had created an atmosphere in the Congress against Prashant Kishor. Rama Rao had said that it is because of Rahul Gandhi that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP get strength. At the same time, most of the leaders opposing Prashant’s inclusion in the party are considered close and trusted to Rahul Gandhi.
Many Congress leaders claim that there was no consensus even in the Gandhi family regarding Prashant Kishor. Rahul Gandhi was not very comfortable with Prashant Kishor. This is the reason why he attended only one meeting, whereas Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was present in almost every meeting. At the same time, Sonia Gandhi also did not agree much with Prashant’s suggestions regarding the party leadership. Hence, Prashant could not join the party.
Along with this, Prashant Kishor’s relationship with other political parties and his direct attack on Rahul Gandhi was also a reason. A party leader said the committee constituted to suggest Prashant’s plan of action in its report has also mentioned the tweets which he has made against the Congress leadership. Along with this, he objected to many such suggestions, which could have benefited other parties.
Prashant’s tweets against Congress
October 8, 2021: On the basis of the incident of Lakhimpur Kheri, people expecting a quick and natural rise of the opposition, led by the country’s oldest party, may be disappointed. “Unfortunately, there is no quick solution to the problems and structural weaknesses that have plagued the oldest party for a long time,” he tweeted.
2 December 2021 : The idea that the Congress represents is crucial for a strong opposition. But the Congress leadership personally has no divine right in this matter, that too when the party has lost 90 per cent of the elections in the last ten years. The leadership of the opposition should be decided democratically.
Rahul was also targeted
During the Goa assembly elections, Prashant Kishor had said in a program that as Congress was at the center of Indian politics for the first 40 years. Similarly, BJP will also remain at the center of politics, whether it wins or loses. BJP is not going anywhere.
Taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi, he had said that the biggest problem with Rahul Gandhi is that he thinks it is just a matter of time. People will throw Narendra Modi out of power. Prashant said that till the time he does not understand the power of the Prime Minister, he will not be able to defeat him in the elections.
