Jaipur . Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Tikaram Julie instructed the departmental officers to identify the persons and their families involved in illegal liquor business after completing the survey of the castes included under Navjeevan Yojana in three months.
Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, a meeting of the State Level Monitoring Committee constituted for the effective implementation of Navjeevan Yojana was organized in Committee Room-2 located in the Government Secretariat on Tuesday.
Julie said that 30 castes, including Kanjar, Sansi, Bhat, Bhand, Nat, Rana, Dom, Dholi, Mogia (Mogya), Bavaria, Bedia, Bagaria, Sirkiwala, Choubdar, Gadolia, Banjara, were included under the department scheme, Julie said. Prepare survey form afresh for Kalbelia, Bhopa, Nayak, Gadiya Luhar, Pardi, Bhedkut, Raibari, Sikligar, Sigdiwal, Rangaswamy, Nath, Baazigar, Gujarati and Jungliya, and start the survey work immediately.
Under the scheme, he instructed the departmental officers to survey the persons and families involved in the manufacture, storage and sale of illicit liquor and identify them district wise, block level, gram panchayat level and caste wise, so that their social, educational and economic development could be done. Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Dr. Samit Sharma said that Navjeevan Yojana has been started with a good thought. The objective of the scheme is to bring people involved in the manufacture, storage and business of illicit liquor and such families in the main stream of development by benefiting from the scheme. For this it is necessary to identify such persons and families.
Dr. Sharma informed that earlier 14 castes were included in this scheme but in the budget announcement year 2022-23, 16 more castes have been included in it. In the past, about 97,827 persons have been identified by conducting survey in all the districts under this scheme. He said that the objective of the department is to prepare a digital database by conducting a survey of all 30 castes and provide them social, educational and economic security. He said that efforts would be made to keep the survey process simple.
Director of Social Justice and Empowerment Department and Joint Secretary O. P. Weaver said that under the scheme, door-to-door survey of persons and such families involved in the business of illicit liquor would be conducted.
Apart from this, in the meeting, 20 percent payment in terms of payment to voluntary organizations for skill training to selected persons under Navjeevan Yojana, 40 percent to be done after getting employed, these selected persons/selected on vacant posts in departmental hostels, residential schools. Admission to the children of the families, construction of roads to connect the residential places of the people of the castes/communities involved in the scheme with the main road, connecting the selected families with the departmental schemes on priority, Navjeevan DBT Watcher scheme for classes 6 to 12. Issues such as implementation of the scheme, connecting children of selected persons and families with educational activities and making available a list of cases against persons involved in illicit liquor by the Excise Department were also discussed. Additional Director, Social Security Shri Suvalal Pahadia introduced the Navjeevan Yojana at the beginning of the meeting and presented the progress report of the earlier meeting.
