Advocates under the banner of District Advocates Association are putting forth their demand vigorously. Speakers have started pressurizing to implement Advocate Protection Act in the state without delay. The issue of corruption in the revenue courts has also been strongly raised by the lawyers. A huge crowd of lawyers has gathered at Nehas Chowk. In order to maintain law and order, a large number of police forces have been deployed at the protest site.
The incident between lawyers and revenue officials in Raigad is not visible. Lawyers are staging a dharna under the banner of District Advocates Association. Two demands are being emphasized for the demonstration. Advocate Protection Act should be implemented in the state as soon as possible and corruption prevailing in revenue courts should be curbed effectively. Both are seen vocal in the protest site regarding the demands.
The list of speakers during the sit-in demonstration has also become long. Lawyers are constantly making their point. The full focus of the lawyers is about the Advocate Protection Act. It should be known that in the past, lawyers from all over the state had gheraoed the Raj Bhavan in the capital Raipur for the demand of Advocate Protection Act. The Governor and the Chief Minister were demanded to implement the law soon.
silence in revenue courts
The lawyers mobilized under the banner of the District Advocates Association had announced to boycott the hearing of the Revenue Court on Thursday itself. Due to this, the work in the Revenue Courts has come to a complete halt today. Revenue officers are sitting in their court. The work is not being done due to the absence of lawyers. The parties and applicants coming for the hearing of the cases are being returned after giving the date of next appearance.
Will submit memorandum in the name of Governor and CM
After the protest, the lawyers will reach the collectorate in the form of a rally. Without delay, advocates will submit a memorandum to the collector in the name of the Governor and the Chief Minister, demanding the implementation of the Security Act. After handing over the memorandum, a formal announcement of the end of the protest will be made. The officers of the District Advocates Association in the Collectorate premises will also decide the future strategy.
