New Delhi. The Pulitzer Prize 2022 has been announced on Monday. Awarded to Ukrainian journalists for their courageous coverage during the Russian invasion of their country, the award board has given the award to people who have excelled in various fields of journalism, books, drama and music. American media giant ‘The Washington Post’ has also received this prestigious award. He has been given this honor for reporting the riots of 6 January 2021, when a furious mob of supporters of former US President Donald Trump attacked the Capitol building in Washington. Presenting the Pulitzer Special Citation to Ukraine’s courageous journalists, Prize Administrator Marjorie Miller said, “The Board commends the Pulitzer to Ukraine’s journalists for their courage, endurance and commitment, for their true reporting during Vladimir Putin’s ruthless attack.” It gives great pleasure to present the special citation. Despite the bombings, kidnappings, captures and even the deaths of journalists, they are trying to provide real and accurate pictures of this horrific scene.” According to a newspaper, a total of seven journalists have died so far, including three from Ukraine after Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
Pulitzer honor for Danish Siddiqui’s team
Reuters Indian photographer Danish Siddiqui, a member of the team, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography. Danish was killed while covering the fighting in Afghanistan. Let us tell you that Danish Siddiqui and his colleagues Adnan Abidi, Sana Irshad Mattoo and Amit Dave took pictures showing the truth of the deaths due to the COVID-19 epidemic in India. The judges of the country removed his work from the breaking photography category. Regarding his photography, the committee wrote that ‘his work evokes a deep sense in people.’
