Pulses Wholesale Price: The Central Government said that the wholesale price of Arhar Dal has declined by about 3% in the last one year. This is because of steps taken to boost domestic supply and stabilize rates. According to the Department of Consumer Affairs (DOCA) data, the average wholesale price of tur dal as on February 22, 2022 was Rs 9,255.88 per quintal. Which was Rs 9,529.79 per quintal on the same day last year. Which saw a decline of 2.87%.

On February 21, 2022, the average wholesale price of tur dal was Rs 9,252.17 per quintal. Whereas last year it was Rs 9,580.17 per quintal on the same day. In which a decline of 3.42% was registered. Government of India said that in May 2021, advisory has been issued to the States and Union Territories to monitor the prices of essential food items and to ensure disclosure of the stock of pulses held by millers, importers and traders under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. was done. The stock limit on all pulses except moong was notified on July 2, 2021.
These pulses are allowed to be imported in the free category.
In its statement, the government said, “A revised order was issued on July 19, 2021.” In which stock limits were fixed on tur, urad, masoor and gram for the period up to October 31, 2021. In order to improve the availability of pulses and to stabilize the prices, the government has allowed the import of tur, urad and moong under the free category from 15 May 2021 to 31 October 2021.
Increase in imports of pulses
The government has extended the free system in respect of import of tur and urad till March 31, 2022. This policy is supported by the concerned departments/organizations with measures to facilitate its implementation and close monitoring. It said that as a result of the import policy measures, there has been an increase in the import of tur, urad and moong as compared to the corresponding period of the last two years.
