New Delhi. The Central Government has repealed all three agricultural laws by passing a bill in the Parliament. After this, the farmers who have been protesting on the borders of Delhi in protest against the agricultural laws for almost a year have now returned home, but after returning home, now the farmers of Punjab have opened a front against the Channi government of the state. Actually, assembly elections are to be held in Punjab in the year 2022. In such a situation, the farmers’ organizations are demanding the Channi government to fulfill the promises made to the farmers in the 2017 elections. Farmers’ organizations say that before the Punjab elections, the Congress had made many promises to the farmers. The government has completed 5 years, but the promises made to the farmers have not been fulfilled yet.
Punjab government should fulfill the promises
Farmers’ organizations say that the government had announced compensation to the families of farmers who committed suicide due to poverty and debt. Along with this, Congress had made many promises like loan waiver, giving jobs to farmers, which have not been fulfilled yet.
The government is doing drama, alleging farmers
The farmers have given an ultimatum to the Channi government of Punjab regarding these demands. Farmers say that Congress had made false promises to get votes from farmers. Along with this, the farmers have also accused the government of breach of promise. Farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal says that now he will not attend any meeting called by CM Channi. The government is not with the farmers, it is only doing drama.
Government changed meeting date
Let us inform that Punjab CM had called a meeting on 17th December to talk to the farmers of the state on their problems. However, later the date of this meeting was changed. At the same time, while clarifying on changing the date of the meeting, the government said that some jathabandis could not attend the meeting, so this meeting has been shifted.
