A major bus accident has occurred in Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Nine people were killed when a bus belonging to Andhra Pradesh ST Corporation of Godavari fell into the canal. ST Corporation’s bus carrying 47 passengers from Velurupad in Andhra Pradesh was submerged in a canal in Godavari district. In which 9 people including 5 women were killed and many people were injured. The bus was submerged in the canal due to deteriorating balance of the bus driver. When the bus fell into the canal, the water in the canal was very high, due to which many people are feared to be submerged in water. On getting information about the incident, the police and the villagers came running to help the people.
Police and witnesses told that when the ST Corporation bus was coming from the bridge over the canal, at the same time a truck lorry was coming from the front. The bridge was very small, due to which the bus became uncontrollable and fell into the canal. There was a lot of water in the canal during this period, due to which the fear of many people being drowned in the water is also being expressed. Nine people including the driver were killed in the accident.
The District Collector said that the police and the local people together have pulled out nine dead bodies. In which five women and the driver are involved. So far 38 people including children have been rescued and the rescue operation is still going on.
