Japan today introduced the world’s first dual-mode vehicle (DMV). This railbus, which fills both the road and railway track, has been launched for public use in Kaiyo city of Japan today. The new dual-mode vehicle looks like a minibus and rides on the road with the help of conventional rubber-made tyres.
But it has also been given steel wheels which are activated when the railway-track mode is used, due to which this minibus is capable of running like a train on the railway track too. According to Reuters, the world’s first dual motor-vehicle has made its debut in the Japanese city of Kayo, although it looks like a simple minibus when running on the streets, but on steel wheels when boarding interchange stations.
