Raipur. Cow, dung and Gothan are not only playing an important role in strengthening the economic condition of the state, but are also motivating for the use of natural goods. The Godhan Nyay Yojana of the government has given them new energy. These Gothans are constantly creating new dimensions. Till now Gothan meant cow service, milk production and manure made from cow dung, but here the production of new material from cow dung has broken this myth.
When the cow dung procurement scheme was started in the state of Chhattisgarh, no one had imagined that cow dung could also be of multi-use. In the state of Chhattisgarh, in a few years, lamps, sculptures, colors, paints, tiles are being made from cow dung to Gulal. Now preparations are on to go a step ahead of this and set up power plants. Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) will give Nisargaruna technology to the state government. For this MoU was signed with Chhattisgarh Bio Fuel Development Authority.
Gobar gas plant is not a new scheme. They have been operating in many places since decades ago. They are being used especially in villages. At some places, plants are also installed in cities, but their scope is small. Electricity will be generated from all types of wet waste including kitchen waste, paper, grass, dry leaves along with cow dung in the plants to be set up in the state using the Nisarguna technique.
These do not generate waste and waste in the plants, but produce high quality manure and methane gas. Methane gas is used to generate electricity. At present, dung power generation plants are being set up at Rakhi in Bemetara, Sikola in Durg and Bancharoda Gothan in Raipur. The government has tied up with private entrepreneurs for five more plants. Earlier, with the aim of commercializing cow dung and bringing about a change in the economic condition of the poor, cow dung procurement was started in the Gothans of the state.
The work of making vermicompost manure was done from the purchased dung. The government made it mandatory for farmers to use 30 percent vermicompost, so that the dependence on chemical fertilizers can be reduced and the fertility of the fields can be increased. Taking advantage of this opportunity, many Gothans and women self-help groups have found innovation in cow dung. They made idols, paints, paints, tiles and even gulal out of cow dung. Be it lamps or sculptures made of cow dung, paint or tiles, all these items play a favorable role in environmental protection and keep them free from chemical substances. It is hoped that cow dung will play an important role in the prosperity of the state.
