Jaipur . RTI Portal 2.0 has been launched by the State Information Commission for speedy disposal of cases under Right to Information in the state. Citizens will be able to submit the application fee online as well as submit the application using the online portal or with the help of E-Mitra. Apart from this, notices and letters etc. of second appeal will also reach automatically through SMS and email.
Chief Information Commissioner D.B. Gupta launched the RTI portal at the Information Commission office on Monday. He said that through this portal, people living in remote areas of the state would also be facilitated to file RTI appeals. Apart from this, the acceptance, disallowance, first hearing notice and case number of the second appeal filed online will also be available to the applicant online. He said that due to not giving the full address, many times the notice of second appeal could not reach. This allowed only one party to appear before the court. Now online notice will be sent through the portal, so that such problem will not arise and disposal of cases will be speeded up. He informed that at present 275 departments are connected with the portal. Gupta said that for the time being, the process of appeal will continue online as well as in physical form.
All Information Commissioners, officers of Information Commission and officers of Information and Technology Department were present on this occasion.
