Kerala pacer S Sreesanth had a memorable Ranji Trophy match against Meghalaya. He was able to take wickets in this domestic tournament after nine years. After taking the wicket, Sreesanth celebrated it in a different way. The Indian bowler has returned to domestic cricket after serving a seven-year ban for match-fixing.
Sreesanth achieved success by dismissing Aryan Bora of Meghalaya. He then lay down on the pitch and bowed to him. Sreesanth wants to grab the attention of the selectors with his performance. He had also given his name for the IPL auction, but no franchise bought him. After that he turned his attention to domestic cricket.
The match was played between Kerala and Meghalaya from 17 to 19 February. Sreesanth took two wickets in the same match. He had dismissed Aryan Bora as well as Chengkam Sangma. Sreesanth took two wickets for 40 runs in 11.5 overs in the first innings. He did not get a single breakthrough in the second innings. Kerala won that match by an innings and 166 runs. Sreesanth did not get a chance to play in the second match against Gujarat.
That video of the match is now going viral on social media. Sreesanth said- This is my first wicket after a long time of 9 years. By the grace of God I was just so happy. So I saluted the pitch. Sreesanth has played a home match for the first time since 2013. He has 213 wickets in first class matches. Six times he has taken five or more wickets in an innings.

He was banned for life in 2013 due to allegations of match-fixing. Sreesanth was acquitted of all charges by the special court in 2015. After this, all the restrictions imposed on him were removed by the Kerala High Court in 2018. However, a division bench of the High Court later reinstated the ban. After this Sreesanth had approached the Supreme Court. The top court upheld his guilt. The BCCI was recommended to reduce the sentence. In August 2019, BCCI Ombudsman DK Jain reduced the life ban to 7 years. That expired in September 2020.
