From Balrampur, Gorakhpur and Siddharthnagar to Ballia, rebels have been seen affecting the elections in many seats. The city of Gorakhpur was seen voting keeping in mind to make it its chief minister again. So, in the famous Chillupar area of Gorakhpur, on the night before the polling, the effect of ‘Brahmin should not Parshuram’ was visible in many areas during the voting. In Ambedkar Nagar, even after the separation of big leaders, BSP was seen saving its base vote bank. So, the discussion of a former SP MLA supporting the Congress candidate in Utraula of Balrampur showed an impact at many places in the voting. There was a strong impact of the rebels on Chauri-Chaura in Gorakhpur, Tulsipur in Balrampur and Bairia seat of Ballia. Like in the last five phases, there was strong solidarity of Muslims and Yadavs in Thursday’s voting. So, along with free ration, Ram temple and better law and order, the work done in Purvanchal has also been seen counting voters. The caste-wise inclination of voters was also visible at places. With the sixth phase of polling, the elections for 349 assembly seats were over. In the last and seventh phase, voting for 54 seats will be held on March 7.
Gorakhpur: Yogi’s upper hand showed heavy
In Gorakhpur city, there was a fight between BJP candidate Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and SP candidate Subhavati Shukla. In many areas, voters were seen voting for the Chief Minister here again for Purvanchal. Yogi’s upper hand was seen on the city seat. Chandrashekhar Azad, the national president of Azad Samaj Party, was also here. They did not show much effect. In Gorakhpur Rural, there is a tough fight between BJP MLA Vipin Singh and SP’s Vijay Bahadur Yadav. There is a split of Nishad votes. BSP candidate Dara Singh Nishad was seen making the contest triangular.
In Chauri-Chaura, BJP rebel and independent Ajay Singh Tappu was seen spoiling the equation of BJP candidate Sarwan Nishad. Sarwan Nishad is the son of the party’s national president Dr Sanjay Nishad. Here SP’s Captain Brijesh Chandra Lal and BSP’s Virendra Pandey have made the election quadrangular. In Pipraich, a triangular fight was seen between BJP MLA Mahendra Pal Singh, SP candidate Amarendra Nishad and BSP’s Deepak Agarwal. The effect of the support given to the BJP candidate by former MLA Jitendra Jaiswal Pappu, who won the election as an independent candidate for three consecutive terms, was also seen here. In Sahjanwan, there was a triangular fight between Pradeep Shukla of BJP, Yashpal Rawat of SP and Sudhir Singh of BSP. Here the inclination of Sainthwar and Brahmin voters was shown towards BJP. Second, Manoj Yadav of Congress was also seen making equations in many areas. He has left the SP and has come to the fray from Congress.
Bansgaon (SC) seat saw a triangular fight between Dr. Vimlesh Paswan of BJP, Dr. Sanjay Kumar of SP and Ramnayan Azad of BSP. In Khajni (Su.), a minister in the Yogi government, Shri Ram Chauhan, faced a challenge from Vidyasagar of BSP and Rupvati Beldar of SP. But, here the inclination of some voters of the Scheduled Castes was shown towards the BJP. In Chillupar, SP candidate Vinay Shankar Tiwari has got a tough fight from Rajesh Tripathi of BJP. Rajendra Singh wrestler from BSP was seen saving the cadre vote firmly. There was a split in the Brahmin vote bank here, but in many areas the factor of Parashuram was also seen, not Brahmin. In Campierganj, former BJP minister Fateh Bahadur Singh has faced a tough challenge from Kajal Nishad of SP.
Balrampur: Triangular fight everywhere
In the Balrampur (SC) seat, a face-to-face fight was seen between Palturam, Minister of State from BJP and Jagram Paswan, former MLA from SP. Tulsipur saw a triangular fight between BJP MLA Kailash Nath Shukla, former SP MLA Mashhood Khan and independent Jabba Rizwan. Jeba is the daughter of former MP Rizwan Zaheer. Being in jail in a murder case with father, Jeba was also seen getting sympathy at many places. Similarly, in Utraula, there was a triangular fight between BJP MLA Ram Pratap Verma, SP candidate Haseeb Khan, Congress candidate and former MLA Dhirendra Pratap Singh Dhiru. There was also a lot of discussion about Dhiru’s support of a former SP MLA. However, the former MLA rubbished the discussion of support. In Gasdi, a triangular contest was seen between BJP MLA Shailesh Kumar Singh, former minister Shiv Pratap Yadav from SP and Alauddin Khan, former MLA from BSP. There was a split in Muslim votes. Especially among the Muslims, the vote of Chaudhary fraternity was seen going in favor of BSP.
Ambedkar Nagar: Flowers for some, Thorns for some
Ambedkar Nagar has been a stronghold of the BSP. This is the first assembly election after former ministers Lalji Verma and Ram Achal Rajbhar and former MP Tribhuvan Dutt, who were companions of the elephant since the early days of BSP, joined the SP. But, BSP was seen saving its base vote here. BSP candidates were seen fighting a triangular fight in all the five seats. In Akbarpur, there was a triangular fight between Ram Achal Rajbhar of SP, Dharmaraj Nishad of BJP and Chandra Prakash Verma of BSP. Similarly, in Katehri, between Lalji Verma of SP, Awadhesh Dwivedi of BJP-backed Nishad Party and Prateek Pandey of BSP, Rammurti Verma of SP, Kapil Dev Verma of BJP and Shabana Khatoon of BSP were seen forming a triangle in Tanda. Triveni Ram, former BJP MLA from Aalapur, Tribhuvan Dutt, former MP from SP and Keshara Devi of BSP showed a triangle. In Jalalpur, there was a tough fight between outgoing MLA Subhash Rai from BJP, Rakesh Pandey from SP and Rajesh Singh from BSP.
Deoria: Agriculture Minister got tough competition
In Deoria Sadar, Yadav, Sainthwar and Muslim voters were inclined towards SP’s Ajay Kumar Singh while other sections were inclined towards BJP candidate Shalabh Mani Tripathi. In Rampur factory, there was a direct contest between SP candidate Gajala Lari and BJP’s Surendra Chaurasia. Here the SP candidate was seen breaking into Brahmin votes along with cadre votes. In Barhaj, there was a fight between Deepak Mishra of BJP and Murli Manohar of SP. In Rudrapur, there has been a triangular fight between BJP’s Minister of State Jai Prakash Nishad, BJP’s BSP MLA Suresh Tiwari and former Congress MLA Akhilesh Pratap Singh. Here there was a fight between BJP-BSP and somewhere between Congress and BJP. In Pathardeva, there was a tussle between Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi and former SP minister Brahmashankar Tripathi. Here the former minister of BSP, Mr. Shakir Ali’s son Parvez was seen fighting effectively in many fields. The impact of Parvez’s performance is believed to be visible on the result here.
Ballia: A tough challenge to Ram Govind in Bansdih
In Ballia’s prestigious Bansdih seat, Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chaudhary and BJP supported Ketki Singh, BJP’s Minister of State (Independent Charge) Upendra Tiwari and SP’s Sangram Singh in Phephna, BJP’s State Vice President Dayashankar Singh and SP’s Narad Rai in Phephna and Sikanderpur. There was a direct contest between Sanjay Yadav of BJP and Ziauddin Rizvi of SP. In Rasra, a triangular fight was seen between BSP MLA Umashankar Singh, Subhasp’s Mahendra Chauhan and former BJP MP Babban Rajbhar. In Beltharrod, Praveen Prakash of BSP was seen forming triangles in many areas in a direct fight between BJP’s Chhathuram, SubhaSP’s Hansu Ram. The most interesting situation was seen in Baria. Here, Minister of State Anand Swaroop Shukla from BJP, Jai Prakash Anchal, former MLA from SP, Subhash Yadav of BSP and Surendra Singh of VIP were seen making the contest quadrangular. Surendra is rebelling against the VIP after not getting a ticket from the BJP.
Sant Kabirnagar: Seats stuck in triangular fight
The Khalilabad seat saw a fight between BJP’s Ankur Raj Tiwari, SP’s Digvijay Narayan alias Jai Choubey and BSP’s Aftab Alam alias Guddu. In many areas, Dr. Ayub from Peace Party and former MP from AAP, Late. Bhalchand Yadav’s son Subodhchand Yadav was also seen performing well. The outcome will depend on how united the Yadav and Muslim voters are here. BJP and Nishad Party alliance candidate Anil Kumar Tripathi in Mehdawal, Jairam Pandey from SP and Mohd from BSP. A triangular fight was seen between Tabish Khan. In Dhanghata, a triangular fight was seen between Ganeshchandra Chauhan of BJP, Algu Chauhan of SP and Subhasp alliance and Santosh Chauhan of BSP.
Kushinagar: Swami Prasad Maurya in the battle of thorns
In the prestigious Fazilnagar seat of Kushinagar, there was a neck-and-neck competition between former minister Swami Prasad Maurya, who left the BJP and joined the SP, and Surendra Kushwaha, son of BJP MLA Ganga Kushwaha. Both the candidates belong to the same fraternity. In many places, Kushwaha votes were scattered, and in some areas Muslims were seen going in favor of BSP candidate Muhammad Ilyas Ansari. Similarly, Congress state president Ajay Kumar Lallu is in the fray from Tamkuhiraj. Here he was seen facing a tough challenge from Dr. Asim Kumar of BJP and Uday Narayan Gupta of SP. In Kushinagar, BJP’s PN Pathak and SP’s Rajesh Pratap Rao alias Bunty saw a close contest. In Hata, there was a contest between Mohan Verma of BJP and Ranvijay Singh of SP. In Ramkola (SC), there is a contest between Vinay Prakash Gaur of BJP and Poornamasi Dehati of SP and Vivekananda Pandey of BJP-Nishad Party and Ashok Chauhan of SP in Khad.
Siddharthnagar: Competition between Satish Dwivedi and Mata Prasad
Harishankar Singh of BSP was seen making a triangular contest between Mata Prasad Pandey of SP and Dr Satish Chandra Dwivedi of BJP in the prestigious Etawa seat. In Dumariaganj, there was a direct contest between Raghavendra Pratap Singh of BJP and Sayyida Khatoon of SP. Here BSP’s Ashok Tiwari was seen making a triangle. In Bansi, there was a direct fight between Health Minister Jaipratap Singh and Naveen alias Monu Dubey of SP. In Kapilvastu, there was a contest between Shyamdhani Rahi of BJP and Vijay Paswan of SP. Shohratgarh saw a quadrangular fight between BJP and Apna Dal (S) candidate Vinay Verma, SP-SubHSP candidate Premchandra Nishad, Congress’s Ravindra Pratap alias Pappu Chaudhary and BSP’s Radharaman Tripathi.
Basti and Maharajganj: Triangular fight at many places
Nautanwan seat saw a triangular contest between Rishi Tripathi of BJP’s ally Nishad Party, Kaushal Singh of SP and Amanmani Tripathi of BSP. In Farenda, there is a tough fight between BJP’s Bajrang Bahadur Singh and Congress’s Virendra Chaudhary. Former SP minister Shankhlal Majhi is making the fight triangular.
In the Kaptanganj area of Basti, there was a contest between Chandraprakash Shukla of BJP and Atul Chaudhary of SP. Atul is the son of former minister Ram Prasad Choudhary. In Harraiya, there was a contest between Ajay Singh of BJP, Tryambaknath Pathak of SP and former minister Rajkishore of BSP.
