New Delhi. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the Women’s Premier League 2024 title by defeating Delhi Capitals. In the title match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, RCB defeated Delhi by 8 wickets and captured the shining trophy. This is the first title of RCB. The team had reached the finals for the first time. On the other hand, Delhi lost in the title match for the second consecutive time. He had to face defeat in the finals in the first season also. The team captained by Smriti Mandhana had restricted Delhi to 113 runs in the title match.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had a good start to chase the target of 114 runs. Captain Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine gave a great start to RCB. Both of them made a partnership of 49 runs for the first wicket. Devine was LBW on the first ball of the 9th over by pacer Shikha Pandey. He scored 32 runs in 27 balls with the help of 5 fours and one six. Minu Mani gave the second blow to RCB by getting Mandhana caught by Arundhati Reddy. Mandhana was out after scoring 31 runs in 39 balls. Ellyse Perry scored 35 not out while Richa Ghesh returned unbeaten after scoring 17 runs.
