Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann while making a big announcement in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha today said that the Punjab government will get the statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh installed in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. The Punjab Assembly also passed a resolution for the installation of statues of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Along with this, Bhagwant Mann announced that Martyrs’ Day, March 23, would be a public holiday in the state.
At the same time, a day before the martyrdom day, the Chief Minister of Delhi made a big announcement. The Chief Minister of Delhi has decided to name Sainik School after Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. Arvind Kejriwal Declaring that, “Tomorrow is the martyrdom day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. Last year, we had announced that we would set up a school in Delhi where children would be trained to join the army. That school name will be Shaheed Bhagat Singh Armed Forces Preparatory School.
Arvind Kejriwal announced that he would bring retired army officers as teachers for training in this school. Arvind Kejriwal said, “This school will be completely free and will be residential. Expert faculty especially retired officers of Army, Navy and Air Force will be brought here for training. Any child residing in Delhi can enroll here. There will be admission in class 9th and 11th.
Arvind Kejriwal told that there will be 100 seats in class 9th and 100 seats in class 11th. He said, “So far more than 18 thousand applications have been received for admission in this school. On 27th March, the examinations for the 9th class admission are being held and on 28th March, the examinations will be held for the 11th class admissions. For this the test will be conducted in 2 phases. This is Delhiites’ way of paying tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh.”
