Aam Aadmi Party is making rapid efforts for its expansion. After coming to power in Delhi and Punjab with tremendous success, the party’s endeavor is to present itself at the national level. Under this, the party’s strategy is to strengthen the organization in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat and to make its inroads in the southern states as well. The most prominent in this is the state of Telangana, where assembly elections are to be held in December 2023.
In such a situation, the party wants to strengthen its base in the South through Telangana. The party is trying to take the Kejriwal model of governance after Delhi and Punjab to the people of other states as well. A senior party leader said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is trying to expand its base in Telangana by promoting the “Kejriwal Model of Governance”.
AAP’s Delhi MLA Somnath Bharti, along with the party’s election in-charge for the southern state, visited Warangal and Hyderabad for two days this week. Bharti told PTI over phone from Delhi that the Arvind Kejriwal-led party will take out a ‘padayatra’ in Telangana from April 14, the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar. He said that AAP aims to bring ‘Kejriwal Model of Governance’ in Telangana.
Bharti said, “After the massive ‘Inquilab’ (revolution) of Punjab, I am getting calls from many people from all parties. We are cautious that we do not want any corrupt person or anyone with bad background to join the party.” You will never indulge in religion or caste based politics, but will spread the message of “Kejriwal Model of Governance”.
When pointed out that there is political competition between the ruling TRS in Telangana and the opposition BJP and Congress and that his party does not even have a proper organization in the state, Bharti said AAP’s competition is not with anyone but with an idea.
He claimed that the idea under which every political party is grouped together in Telangana or any other part of the country is politics based on religion or caste or corruption, while AAP means “work-based politics”. He said that people want employment and want solutions to their problems. Kejriwal has projected his party’s ideology as “honesty, patriotism and humanity” and with this the party has given amazing governance in the national capital.
On Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s recent attempts to unite opposition parties against the BJP, he said that mere opposition to the saffron party will not work and an alternative agenda is needed for the people.
