In the Maharashtra Assembly on Tuesday, former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had released a video alleging that the ministers of the Uddhav government were trying to implicate BJP leaders in a fake case. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has retaliated on this. He alleged that the BJP is furious for not being able to topple the Uddhav government and is using central agencies to spy on the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi.
Pawar said the way Fadnavis released the video, it appears that central agencies are involved in the recording. He said, “I have heard that the recording is for 125 hours. If this is true, then you will need the help of powerful agencies to carry out this. Such agencies are available only with the central government. They managed to break into a state government office and make secret recordings for hours. I am sure the state government will investigate the incident and verify the veracity of the tapes. BJP leaders complain and then elected representatives are targeted. This is happening in Maharashtra and West Bengal.”
Pawar also said that the central agencies conducted at least 90 raids on Anil Deshmukh, his family and associates. He said, “I am aware that at least 90 raids have been conducted on Anil Deshmukh, his family, relatives, private secretary and chartered accountant. The statements of more than 200 people have been recorded in his case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted 50 raids. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted 20 raids and the Income Tax Department has conducted 20 raids.”
Shameful to use central agencies like this- Pawar also said, “A total of 90 raids have been conducted in a case involving one person. I have never heard of this before in my experience as an administrator. These raids show how central agencies are being used. Using central agencies like this is shameful in a parliamentary democracy.”
Sanjay Raut wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi- Pawar further said that Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has told in this how officers of central agencies are extorting money from people. The NCP said that they are hopeful that the PM will take cognizance of this letter.
