An FIR has been registered against BJP leader Kirit Somaiya and his son Neil in Mumbai. The FIR registered by the Mumbai Police has allegations of cheating against the BJP leader and his son. According to the police, a case has been registered against him in connection with the allegations of misappropriation of over Rs 57 crore collected for the restoration of INS Vikrant, the first aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy.
Giving details of the FIR, an official said that a complaint was lodged against the Bharatiya Janata Party leader and his son at Trombay police station on Thursday by a former Indian Army jawan. According to the complaint, between 2013 and 2014, former MP Kirit Somaiya and his son Neil had taken money from the general public for the repair of INS Vikrant. The complainant alleges that he did not deposit these money in the government account.
An official said that so far they have not issued summons to anyone in connection with this case. “We will ask him for bank accounts and other details to probe these allegations,” the official said. Let us tell you that Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday alleged that Somaiya had misappropriated Rs 57 crore collected for the restoration of INS Vikrant.
Raut alleged that Somaiya was supposed to deposit this money with the Governor of Maharashtra, but when he sought information from the Raj Bhavan, no such money was found. Raut alleged that Kirit Somaiya has used the money to expand his business and invest in his son’s construction company.
In this regard, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut tweeted again on Thursday and said that Somaiya and his son, who cheated the country and the public by depositing crores of rupees in the name of INS Vikrant, will have to go to jail. He further wrote that Kirit Somaiya is not only a traitor to Maharashtra, now he has also been proved to be a traitor. Raut said that people should not remain silent now but should seek an answer from the BJP, which is doing black marketing of national sentiment.
