Unemployment is increasing continuously in the country. The Congress, which surrounded the Modi government on the issue of unemployment, is now failing to provide employment in its own stronghold. Rajasthan remains the number one state in terms of unemployment. The unemployment rate here has gone up to 32.3 percent.
The unemployment rate is at an all-time high nationally, according to reports from the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). According to this the situation is so bad in some states that every second or third graduate is unemployed. However, on the other hand there are some states where the unemployment rate is very low.
This report has shown that Rajasthan has the highest unemployment rate. Here every other graduate has no means to earn even minimum wage. Rajasthan has the highest number of unemployed graduates. These are 20.67 lakhs here. The total number of unemployed is also the highest in Rajasthan, which is equal to 65 lakhs. In the last four years, unemployment among graduates in Rajasthan has increased four-fold. Whereas in Delhi this number has increased more than 3 times in the last four years.
According to the report, where the unemployment rate in Rajasthan was 3.8 percent in 2016, it has increased to 32.3 percent in 2022. This is the worst performance of Rajasthan so far. Disturbance in examinations is a major reason for unemployment in Rajasthan. However, Ashok Gehlot’s government has announced in the budget to remove recruitment for one lakh government posts. So that these figures can be improved.
Like Rajasthan, there is an acute shortage of employment opportunities in states like Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Haryana. Rajasthan is followed by Haryana at number two, Jharkhand at number three, Bihar at number four and Jammu and Kashmir at number five.
On the other hand, the situation is fine in Orissa, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Gujarat. In Gujarat, 1 in 13 graduates are unemployed. Orissa ranks number one among the states with the lowest unemployment. It is followed by Meghalaya, then Chhattisgarh and Karnataka.
