Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was addressing the ‘Ujjain Gaurav Diwas’ program in Ujjain. During this, Shivraj Singh Chauhan also gave a statement regarding intoxication. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “Drug is the root of destruction. If I am talking about drugs, I am saying quitting cannabis. Except cannabis, all intoxicants are useless and cannabis is the herb of Shiva. But the rest, whether it is intoxication of pills or liquor, whether it is charas or heroine, leave it all useless.
Shivraj Singh further said that, “My bus should go and believe that by stopping the liquor, the intoxication will end, then it will not take 1 minute to stop it, but that does not happen. For this, we will run a drug-free campaign and make it free from drugs. As the drug de-addiction campaign progresses, people will give up drugs and drug shops will automatically be closed. I know there will be some problems, it will not happen easily but initiative will have to be taken.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in the program that, “Mahakal will take a pledge to completely eliminate begging from the city. Young children used to get addicted to drugs, but our officers worked very hard to get those children out of it. We will make arrangements for the accommodation of those children, make arrangements for their education. Can’t this government make arrangements for food and education? We will make all efforts.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan is also adopting bulldozer policy against criminals in Madhya Pradesh. Many such reports came from Madhya Pradesh in which there was talk of running bulldozers against criminals.
Let us tell you that the Bihar government is also running a drug de-addiction campaign and many years back alcohol was banned in the state. However it did not prove to be completely successful. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself is taking a tough stand against drugs. But still liquor is sold illegally in Bihar. Just a few days ago, more than 30 people died in Bihar due to drinking spurious liquor.
