BJP leader Pushkar Singh Dhami took oath as the 12th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand today. Along with Pushkar Singh Dhami, 8 MLAs also took oath as ministers. Many big leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh were present during Dhami’s swearing-in. Ritu Khanduri was also made the Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. Ritu Khanduri is the first woman Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
There will be 8 ministers in the Dhami government. Satpal Maharaj, Premchand Agarwal, Ganesh Joshi, Dhan Singh Rawat, Subodh Uniyal, Rekha Arya, Chandan Ramdas and Saurabh Bahuguna took oath as ministers. The caretaker Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath also reached the swearing-in. In the presence of Yogi, BJP workers also raised slogans in the name of Bulldozer Baba.
Satpal Maharaj, who took oath as a cabinet minister, has become an MLA from Chaubattakhal seat and in 2017 also he became a minister. Satpal Maharaj had joined BJP from Congress in 2014. Whereas Ganesh Joshi has been elected MLA from Mussoorie. Joshi has become MLA for the fourth time. While Dhan Singh Rawat has also taken oath as a minister. Dhan Singh Rawat has been elected MLA from Srinagar seat. Dhan Singh’s name was also included in the Chief Minister’s race.
Prime Minister Modi congratulated Pushkar Singh Dhami on becoming the Chief Minister. PM tweeted, “Many congratulations to Pushkar Singh Dhami ji on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. In the last 5 years, Devbhoomi has made rapid progress in every field. I am sure that you and all your ministers will give further impetus to it, setting a new paradigm of development according to the aspirations of the people.
