Today, Dussehra or Vijayadashami is being celebrated across the country with great fanfare, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. In this country, people burn the effigy of Ravana in a big event held across the country. A grand program of Ravan Dahan is also organized in the capital of the country, Delhi. However, for the first time in the nearly 225-year-old history of Ramlila celebrations in the national capital, this year Dussehra will be celebrated digitally. Ramlila committees have made special arrangements for Dussehra this time in view of corona virus and pollution. Like every year, in place of huge effigies, the size of the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnad have been reduced. At the same time, arrangements have been made for digital fireworks for Ravana Dahan to be shown on the screen.
Let us tell you that due to this digital Ravan Dahan, Delhiites can comfortably sit in their homes and watch Ravan Dahan and then electronic fireworks on their respective television screens. Firecrackers have not been used in the effigies due to pollution. Instead digital fireworks have been made for the sound of fireworks. Virtual effigies will be burnt in some places. Ashok Aggarwal, president of Delhi’s oldest Luv Kush Ramlila committee, which organized Ramlila at Red Fort, said that due to the current corona and pollution, the height of the effigies has been reduced. This time it has been reduced to 30 feet. Before the epidemic, these effigies used to be up to 110 feet high. However, this year the size was reduced as per the instructions to organize Ramlila celebrations. Aggarwal said that fireworks will also not be used while burning the Ravana idol and the spectators will witness digital fireworks for the first time in history.
Let us tell you that the president of Luv Kush Ramlila Committee said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be the chief guest at Dussehra celebrations this year also. This will be the third time that Kejriwal will attend the Ramlila celebrations at the Red Fort. Let us tell you that Ramlila is based on the life of Lord Rama which is remembered every year in the form of a play.
