There is news of a clash between two communities over a bike rally being taken out on the occasion of Hindu New Year in Karauli, Rajasthan. Curfew has been imposed in the area after anti-social elements pelted stones on this bike rally of Nav Samvatsar.
Giving information on this matter, the police said that the incident happened in the evening. After stone pelting in Karauli, shops and vehicles in the area were set on fire. Additional Director General Hawasingh Ghumaria said- “Hindu organizations were taking out a bike rally. When the rally reached near a mosque, there was some stone pelting from the roof. This led to stone pelting and arson from the other side as well. The situation is now under control and a large number of police personnel have been deployed.”
According to the information received, many people of both the communities have been injured in this incident. Also, there has been a lot of damage due to arson and there is a possibility of burning of property worth lakhs. According to a police officer, more than 20 people have been injured in the incident. However, most have suffered minor injuries. The officer said that one person has suffered a head injury who has been referred to Jaipur.
At the same time, regarding this incident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that he has spoken to the Director General of Police and has directed the police to deal strictly with all the miscreants. He has also appealed to the people to maintain peace.
Karauli District Magistrate Rajendra Singh Shekhawat said in a statement that the prohibitory orders would remain in force till 12 noon on April 4. Internet services will also remain suspended till midnight of April 3.
At the same time, after this incident, police force has also been called from the surrounding districts to restore peace in the area. According to the information received, senior police officers including the Inspector General of Police of Bharatpur and the IG of Law and Order have been sent to Karauli. Around 600 policemen have been deployed in Karauli.
