The atmosphere has once again become tense in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The situation has worsened after the stabbing incident in Pigeon Ka Chowk of the city. A young man named Danish has been stabbed in the chowk. There has been a report of sabotage after this incident. Police have taken the youth who killed the knife into custody and admitted the injured Danish to MG Hospital.
The incident has been confirmed by DCP Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav. Earlier, violence erupted in Jodhpur on the night of May 2 over flag-loudspeakers. The police had arrested more than 200 people in this case. Along with this, curfew was imposed in the city for several days and internet service was also stopped.
Violence happened earlier also: Violence took place on the occasion of Eid at Jalauri Gate and Pigeon Chowk in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Some people ransacked the shops. The accused had assaulted the children and also damaged the vehicles. Tension prevailed in the city after clashes between the two communities.
There was a lot of uproar in the city that came with the planning. The miscreants threw acid-filled bottles at homes and waved swords to spread panic. Pigeons were also attacked with a knife on the back of a person named Deepak Parihar in Chowk. In more than 14 localities of the city, miscreants had pelted stones, creating a ruckus.
How did the controversy start? A saffron flag was put up at Jodhpur’s Jalori Gate on Parshuram Jayanti. On the evening of May 2, it was decided in the meeting of the administration that on Eid on May 3, Muslims would put up flags and loudspeakers like every year. After which a large number of BJP people reached the spot and uprooted Eid flags and loudspeakers. After the video of this incident went viral, a large number of people pelted stones at the Jalauri Gate at one o’clock in the night. The police had to lathi-charge and use tear gas shells to control the crowd.
