Trial was conducted on Sunday before the demolition of Supertech Twin Tower of Noida Sector 93A in Uttar Pradesh. Preparations are underway to demolish the illegally built Supertech Twin Towers. The demolition of the twin towers in just three seconds will be completed on May 22. It will take only nine seconds to ground it. Edphis Engineering and Jet Demolition were tasked to conduct the test blasts at 2.30 pm on Sunday.
During this test blast, traffic was closed on the road opposite Emerald Court and ATS Village Society. Along with this, people were instructed not to come out for an hour. Those living in the surrounding society were also banned from coming to the balcony. The test blast took place around 2.30 pm in the Twin Towers located in Sector 93-A.
Earlier, this test blast was reported to be an explosives plant in the basement and 14th floor of the building. Also, under this process, test blast will be done in 5 pillars. It was told that this test blast will be done in Apex Tower in which 5 kg of explosives will be used. On May 22, a test blast was conducted to estimate the amount of explosives needed to bring down the skyscraper.
Supreme Court ordered the demolition of the skyscraper
Ambulances and fire tenders were on the spot and adequate number of police personnel were deployed to deal with any emergency during the test blast. The Supreme Court had on August 31, 2021 ordered the demolition of Apex (100 m) and Cyan (97 m) of Supertech after the twin towers came in violation of building norms. Both these towers are built in about 7.5 lakh square feet. According to a Noida Authority official, the regional office of the Pollution Control Board is assessing how much pollution will be caused by the demolition of the twin towers.
