Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin has taken a jibe at the BJP, saying that those who bring 10 percent numbers are claiming the third force in the state. Actually BJP had claimed to be at number three in Tamil Nadu. Meaning ruling DMK, opposition AIADMK and then BJP are the strongest in the state.
Stalin has targeted the BJP on this claim. Stalin said- “It is like a student securing 90 per cent marks in the examination, 50 per cent marks for the next and only 10 per cent for the third-ranked student”.
He also questioned the victory of the BJP in the recent assembly elections, saying that it is being told that the BJP won a massive victory in the recently held assembly elections in five states, but the truth is different. He said the number of BJP MLAs declined in Uttar Pradesh and 10 of its ministers, including a deputy chief minister, lost there. While in Goa many prominent leaders were defeated. The Chief Minister also faced defeat in Uttarakhand.
Stalin said in a conversation with PTI- “Keeping in view the actual field conditions of the election results of five states, I would say that it is negative for the BJP. In UP, they have got less seats than last time. 10 ministers including the deputy chief minister were defeated. The Chief Minister of BJP has lost in Uttarakhand and their prominent leaders have also lost in Goa. The party has won only two seats in the Punjab Assembly.
After the urban local body elections held in Tamil Nadu in February, the BJP had claimed that it had emerged as the third largest party in the state after DMK and AIADMK. The ruling DMK won nearly two-thirds of the seats in the local elections. On the other hand, BJP has managed to make its entry by winning more than 300 seats. However, it had fielded candidates for about 5,600 seats out of a total of over 12,800 seats. From where he got this victory.
