An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons for allegedly raising slogans by climbing the mosque. This incident is from Gahmar village of Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh where some people jumped from the gate and climbed on top of a mosque and raised religious slogans. Police said the incident took place on April 2 when a group of local residents was taking out a procession. The accused have been accused by the police of promoting tension between the two groups. Police said that no arrest has been made in this case so far.
A purported video of the incident is also going viral on social media. In the video, a group of youths are purportedly seen climbing a mosque and waving flags after chanting Jai Shri Ram. Ghazipur SP Ram Badan Singh said that the police are trying to identify the accused. Police said that the atmosphere in the village is peaceful.
According to police, residents of Gahmar village take out ‘Ram Kalash Yatra’ at the beginning of every Hindu New Year, in which both men and women participate. The village is a Hindu majority area with a population of about 1 lakh 25 thousand.
TL Sen, SHO of Gahmar police station said, “On April 2, the people of the village took out Ram Kalash Yatra. When the Kalash Yatra reached near a mosque in the village, some youths climbed on it (mosque) and started shouting slogans of Jai Shri Ram. When the people present on the spot scolded him, the youth immediately got down. But someone from the crowd caught the incident on camera and later uploaded it on social media.”
Let us inform that earlier on Monday night, a youth named Murtaza attacked the policemen of the temple with a sharp weapon in the Gorakhnath temple of Gorakhpur, in which three policemen were injured.
