Mumbai. The two motorcycle-riding accused who opened fire outside actor Salman Khan’s house in Bandra, Maharashtra, lived in a rented house in Panvel area of Navi Mumbai for about a month. Salman has a farmhouse in this area. A police officer gave this information on Monday. During the day, police questioned three people from Navi Mumbai in connection with the incident, including the owner of the house, the previous owner of the two-wheeler used in the crime, the agent who facilitated the sale and several others as part of the investigation. Other people were involved.
The police officer said that the attackers had left the motorcycle near Mount Mary Church, about a kilometer away from Salman’s house. He told that this motorcycle is registered in the name of a person living in Panvel area of Navi Mumbai. Panvel Assistant Police Commissioner Ashok Rajput said that the man had recently sold the motorcycle to another person.
Two people fired four bullets outside Galaxy Apartment in Bandra at around 5 am and fled from the spot. Salman Khan lives in Galaxy Apartment. The officer said that investigation revealed that the abandoned motorcycle was registered in the name of a person living in Panvel, following which a Crime Branch team went there and brought the vehicle owner and two other people for questioning.
According to the officer, the suspects left the vehicle near the church, walked some distance and took an autorickshaw to Bandra Railway Station. The officer said the police questioned the previous owner of the vehicle, the agent who helped in the sale and the owner of the house located in Panvel’s Harigram area, which the accused had taken on rent in March. The police have formed more than a dozen teams to investigate the incident and some of them have been sent to Bihar, Rajasthan and Delhi. He told that till now we have not arrested or detained anyone, but interrogation of many people is going on.
According to officials, the suspects abandoned the motorcycle near Mount Mary Church, walked some distance and took an autorickshaw to Bandra Railway Station. According to the police, the accused boarded a train going towards Borivali, but got down at Santa Cruz railway station and got out from there. The officer said that the police is also interrogating many other people and recording their statements and the CCTV footage of the area is also being scrutinized. Police have registered an FIR against unidentified people under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act.
