Basirhat BJP candidate Rekha Patra, who highlighted the plight of women in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal, has filed a complaint against Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Devangshu Bhattacharya. In the complaint given to the National Commission for Women, Rekha Patra has accused the TMC leader of violating her privacy and demanded action.
Rekha Patra has also written a letter to the National Scheduled Caste Commission. In this, he has alleged that Trinamool Congress candidate from Tamluk Lok Sabha seat and head of the party’s social media unit, Devangshu Bhattacharya, made public his personal information and details of bank accounts. The BJP candidate, through his lawyer, urged the Commission to take immediate action against the TMC leader for violating the right to privacy and violating the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Protection (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
