‘Confederation of Ex Paramilitary Force Martyrs Welfare Association’ has thanked Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on the issue of old pension. The Gehlot government has taken a historic decision this week to restore old pension in the state. General Secretary Ranbir Singh said, we are appealing to the Chief Ministers of other states and the Central Government to announce the restoration of old pension without any delay.
The ‘Confederation of Ex Paramilitary Force Martyrs Welfare Association’, formed for the welfare of central paramilitary forces, has warned the central government on the issue of old pension. Former ADG HR Singh, chairman of the Confederation, said, now 20 lakh paramilitary families of the country will vote for the one who will restore the old pension of paramilitary forces. A paramilitary family consists not only of four-five members, but also their relatives. In such a situation, this figure goes beyond one crore.
General Secretary Ranbir Singh said, for the introduction of old pension in CAPF, the Confederation has met the President, Union Home Minister, Defense Minister, Finance Minister, Minister of State for Home and the Union Home Secretary and submitted a memorandum to the Director Generals of all the forces. There was only assurance from everyone. The Union Home Minister’s 100 days leave formula has failed. Due to non-availability of leave, the youth are suffering from serious diseases like mental stress and irritability.

The Gehlot government has taken a historic decision this week to restore old pension in the state. General Secretary Ranbir Singh said, we are appealing to the Chief Ministers of other states and the Central Government to announce the restoration of old pension without any delay. Also, for the pension, rehabilitation and welfare of widows, veterans and soldiers of Paramilitary Force, set up a Para Military Forces Flag Day Fund and Ardh Sainik Welfare Board. Retired soldiers should be given the status of X-men and martyrs to those who sacrificed for the country. A reasonable demand has been made before the Central Government for opening of paramilitary schools in state capitals and expansion of CGHS dispensaries at the district level for better education and health.
According to the officer VS Kadam, the future of the paramilitary has become bleak without pension. There is a lot of restlessness in the forces regarding the facilities. Because of this, young people are often committing suicides. In the last few years, there has been an increase in the cases of mutual shootouts. In view of the assembly elections in five states, the leave of the jawans has been closed for three months. The 100 days leave formula of the Union Home Minister has failed. Serious diseases like mental stress and irritability have been seen in the jawans. Ministry of Home Affairs Kumbhakarni is sleeping. It has nothing to do with the legitimate demands of the paramilitary at all. Expressing anger, former ADG HR Singh, chairman of the Confederation, said that now 20 lakh paramilitary families of the country will vote for the one who will restore old pension of paramilitary forces.
Will protest before 2024
The lack of will power in the central government is evident on the issue of restoration of old pension. Confederation President Jayendra Singh Rana said, after the assembly elections, a new strategy will be made after talking to the representatives of different states. Ahead of the 2024 general elections, peaceful indefinite dharna demonstrations will be held in different states and Delhi. Devendra Bakshi, member of Ex Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association, said, “This is a new dawn in the history of social justice. Its spark has come from Rajasthan. Implementation of the New Pension Scheme by the Government of India and other states for their aged employees since 2004 was the most unfair step for anyone. This controversial decision disappointed not only the employees and their families, but also the generations to come.
Old pension is applicable for one day MPs and MLAs. The pension of the jawans of the forces who sacrificed their lives for the country has been taken away. All the organizations have condemned this decision in one voice. There will be a big movement for restoration of old pension. The central and other state governments will have to reverse their decision. Old pension scheme for employees will have to be restored. According to Bakshi, the government may face dire consequences if the old pension is not restored at the earliest.
