Jaipur . Neha Giri, CMD, Rajasthan Handloom Development Corporation has asked the handloom weavers to enter the market with traditional designs as well as new color combinations and designs so as to connect the new generation with tradition and modernity.
CMD RHDC Smt. Giri Udyog, RUDA, Indian Institute of Crafts, Banasthali Vidyapeeth, IIS University, Poornima University and with the officials of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India in relation to linking handloom weavers and artisans in the main stream of economic development in the state in post covid situations. I was brainstorming.
He said that handloom weavers and craftsmen would also have to experiment with bridal and Teej festival wear so that traditional as well as out-of-the-box identity could be created in the market. CMD Neha Giri said that Rajasthan Handloom Development Corporation will play a role in connecting weavers and artisans with the preservation and promotion of traditional heritage as well as new technology, design, color combination etc. He said that efforts would be made to promote weavers through e-marketing. In the meeting, he also sought suggestions for schemes in the interest of weavers and artisans so that they could be benefitted by adding new schemes.
