Batting first, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team set a target of 272 runs on the board. Chasing the target, the entire Delhi team was bundled out for just 166 runs. Players of both the teams were present in the stadium during the presentation ceremony after the match. Rinku Singh and Rishabh Pant were talking on the field when Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan arrived. Rishabh Pant also stood up in respect of Shahrukh, but King Khan signaled him to remain sitting.

Kolkata defeated Delhi
In this match, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsmen made a strong score of 272 runs. Sunil Narine scored 85 runs in 39 balls, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi contributed 54 runs in 27 balls. However, Kolkata Knight Riders missed the record of the highest score in IPL history by just five runs. The Delhi team struggled with both bat and ball throughout the match. Captain Rishabh Pant scored another consecutive half-century and Tristan Stubbs also played an inning of 54 runs, but apart from him, no other batsman could make an impact and the entire team collapsed for 166 runs in 17.2 overs.
