IPL Playoffs: The points table is changing after every match of the Indian Premier League. Meanwhile, all the teams have now played 5 to 6 matches, hence the discussion has also started as to which will be the four teams which will reach the playoffs this year. It will be easy for the teams which are on top after winning their respective matches, but for the teams which are at the bottom, their claim is not over yet, but the path has definitely become difficult. Meanwhile, after the defeat of Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings have gained one place.
Mumbai has got only two wins so far
Mumbai Indians, captained by Hardik Pandya, started this year’s league by losing three consecutive matches. But when the team reached its home Mumbai, it won the very first match. The team has so far played 4 matches at home, out of which it has won two and lost two. After the loss to CSK, it now has only four points. While this defeat has forced them to slide further down the points table, Punjab Kings have moved one place ahead.
Punjab’s net run rate is better than Mumbai
Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, captained by Shikhar Dhawan, have equal four points each. But after the defeat by 20 runs, Mumbai’s net run rate has gone down significantly. At present, Mumbai’s net run rate is -0.234, while Punjab Kings’s is -0.218. There is only a slight difference in this, but despite this the Mumbai team has suffered a loss.
Rajasthan team close to playoff
Meanwhile, if we talk about the current points table, then Rajasthan Royals team is in maximum advantage. Out of the 6 matches that the team has played so far, it has won 5 and lost only one match. Rajasthan now has 8 more matches left, that is, if the team wins only four more matches out of 8, then the playoff berth will be confirmed for it. KKR and CSK also have eight points each. The path to the playoffs seems easy for them too at the moment, but the team will have to win a few more matches. However, there seems to be a lot of struggle for the fourth position. Meanwhile, there are still many matches left, so a lot of changes can be seen taking place.
