Rohit Sharma gave his reaction regarding the pitch
India won the Rajkot test match on the fourth day itself.
New Delhi. Captain Rohit Sharma, after registering a record 434-run win over England on a flat pitch on Sunday, said that the Indian team has the ability to win the match on any pitch. India, setting a target of 557 runs to win on the fourth day of the third Test, bowled out England for just 122 runs and took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. In the third test match, while on one hand the Indian team scored a lot of runs, on the other hand the bowlers also took a lot of wickets. Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets in the second innings.
Rohit Sharma told the media after the victory, ‘We have won many matches on such wickets before. Turning pitches, where the ball turns, remain our strength. This gives us balance. We have delivered results for many years and we will continue to deliver results in the future also. But we can’t control certain things like we don’t discuss whether we want a ‘rank turner’ pitch or not. We arrive at the venue two days before the match and what can we do in two days anyway? Curators decide and prepare the pitch. We have the power to play on any wicket and win the match. When we won the match at Cape Town in South Africa, everyone knew what kind of wicket it was.

‘There were different types of challenges in the last three Tests’
Rohit Sharma said that the Indian team has found a way out of all situations which can be seen in the first three Tests. The Indian captain said, ‘There were different types of challenges in the last three Tests. In the first Test in Hyderabad, the ball was spinning and the pitch was slow. The ball was staying low in Visakhapatnam. As the match progressed the wicket slowed down. It was good on the first day here. Today we saw that the ball was turning and it was slow. This is in the nature of pitches, we get pitches like this in India. But if we get ‘rank turners’ then we will play on them also.
‘This was Jadeja’s home ground’
Regarding Ravindra Jadeja (112 runs), who scored a century in the first innings and bowled a spell of taking five wickets for 41 runs, Rohit said, ‘We have seen that he understands the situations very well. This is his hometown so he understood the situation better. Over the last few years he has scored some important runs for us in India and abroad. He is batting really well and considering his confidence in batting, we also sent him in the upper order in the first innings.
