On the morning of 16th February, the media news in the capital Ranchi had only the date of cabinet expansion, but the displeasure of the Congress MLAs exposed the politics and politics of the Congress. Around 10 o’clock in the day, news started appearing in the media that only old ministers from Congress quota were getting places. After receiving this information, the contenders for ministerial posts in Congress held a secret meeting. After that meeting, all the Congress MLAs started reaching the Circuit House. Actually, Jharkhand Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir was staying in the Circuit House itself.
Around 11:30 in the day, all the angry Congress MLAs started reaching the Circuit House one by one. After 10 Congress MLAs reached the Circuit House by 12.20 pm, the meeting started in room number 107. Later Umashankar also reached this meeting alone.
At around 1:30 pm, Jharkhand Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir, State Congress President Rajesh Thakur and Alamgir Alam also reached room number 107 to pacify the angry MLAs. The process of convincing the angry MLAs went on for about 2 hours. At 3.20 pm, Jharkhand Congress in-charge came out of the room with all the angry MLAs and spoke to the media.
Talking to the media, the Congress in-charge said that he has heard all the demands of the angry MLAs and has assured to convey all those demands to the high command. He said that some demands are absolutely legitimate and need to be resolved. He also claimed to have convinced the angry Congress MLAs.
After this, all the MLAs including Congress in-charge, State Congress President Rajesh Thakur and Minister Alamgir Alam left for Raj Bhavan in their car. While talking to the media, Irfan Ansari said that after the assembly session, all the MLAs will go to Delhi and talk to the high command and put forward their demands.
