Moscow: Russia has given a big blow to Washington amid the tension with America reaching its peak over the Ukraine war. Russian police have arrested an American soldier and sent him to jail after presenting him in court. Initially, he will remain in jail for more than one and a half months. This American soldier is accused of coming to Moscow on the pretext of meeting his girlfriend and committing theft in Russia. This American soldier arrested on charges of theft in Vladivostok, Russia will now remain in custody pending investigation and hearing.
Russia’s state news agency RIA Novosti gave this information on Friday quoting court officials. According to RIA Novosti’s news, the soldier named Gordon Black will be kept in custody at least until July 2. The Primorsky Regional Court has upheld the lower court’s decision to keep Black in custody pending investigation and hearing. Several US officials said earlier this month that 34-year-old US soldier Black was stationed in South Korea.
