Five were killed and five were injured in a Russian missile attack on a TV tower in Kyiv, while TV broadcasts were also disrupted. Russian forces launched a missile attack on Freedom Square in the heart of Kharkiv city. Russia launched several airstrikes in Kharkiv in the early hours of the seventh day and also attacked outside a military hospital. The foreign ministry said Russia is destroying government buildings and civilian infrastructure. The Russian attack on the city of Buka near Kyiv also continues.
Many buildings have become ruins here, while in many places the remains of Russian military vehicles were seen. Dead bodies are lying in many places in Buka and thousands of people have become homeless as the situation worsens. Several people were injured in the firing in the residential area of Mariupol city. A basement of the city is being used as a bomb shelter by converting it into a medical ward. On the other hand, the Ukrainian army is fighting with the local people in Irpin. Here Russian paratroopers are trying to escape from the people by hiding in the forests, disguising themselves as Ukrainians. Because of this people are looking at each other with a suspicious eye.
Locals sending signals to strangers
Ukrainian special forces commander in Irpin, Viktor Chelovan, said that our agents are living with the local people. People call us by sending signals as soon as strangers are seen in the village. We are battling with the circumstances after coming out and seeing the situation there. The locals are frightened by the arrival of Russian paratroopers. These paratroopers are roaming the streets changing clothes like local citizens. That’s why they are being monitored.
Women and children who stayed in the country took refuge in the neighborhood
Most of the hundreds of refugees gathered at a school ground in a village in eastern Hungary are women and children, while their husbands, fathers, brothers and sons have stayed in Ukraine to defend the country. President Zelensky has ordered men aged 18 to 60 to stay in the country. Irina Yerimchuk from the western Ukrainian city of Kalush said she had to travel five hours to reach the village of Tijabeks in Hungary. With moist eyes, he told that his brother had joined the Ukrainian army. She sent an emotional message to her brother, I love you so much, keep up the courage. Ivan Mursha, a resident of Khust in western Ukraine, has taken refuge in Grano, Czech Republic. He not only covered the seven-hour journey in his car but also offered others to accompany him. Sklyarova, who left for the city of Brno in Mursha’s car, said: “The 15-year-old son of a relative of mine was shot by Russian soldiers on his way to the car in Brovry outside Kyiv. That said, everything is ruined in Kyiv. “At least there must be someone in the world who can stop his (Putin’s) madness,” he said.
