Dilip Mangtani, Bhopal. Due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, Indian students living there had to spend a lot of time in an atmosphere of fear. Due to the fear of mishap, the relatives were sleepless. The night had to be passed between fear and hunger. It’s a relief to be back here. This is the story of students who returned on Thursday after spending time in fear in Ukraine. On Thursday, Kuldeep Dhakad, resident of Amalya Raghogarh and Anil Dhakad, resident of Paharua Aaron Guna, reached Bhopal by Indigo flight. MLA Jaivardhan Singh reached the airport to pick him up. Avni Mudgal and Prachi Mishra, residents of Bagh Mughalia, also reached Bhopal by Indigo’s night flight. At the airport, Navduniya interacted with the students about the situation in Ukraine.
Bad condition due to hunger, price of bread in thousands
Kuldeep Dhakad, a resident of Bada Amalya, is pursuing MBBS. According to Kuldeep, the last one week has been full of fear and dread for him. Our apartment is like a bunker. We were in the basement still feeling scared. The power was turned off. The gas line is powered by electricity only. Had to starve for a long time. When I came out, I had to buy 50 bread for 4500 rupees. Kuldeep says condition is worse. There is an army base camp near the house, we were scared as soon as we came out because there was news of attack on the base camp.
Trapped on the border itself, the blasts made me sleepy
Anil Dhakad, a resident of Paharua Aaron Guna, is studying in the final semester of MBBS. Anil says that he was scared of the possibility of attack. The blasts made me sleepy. We spoke to former Chief Ministers Digvijay Singh and Jaivardhan Singh. Singh had tweeted after this we got permission to go till the border. Spent two nights awake. There was shortage of food. The relatives used to get worried as soon as we contacted the family, so we told them everything is fine. Thank God we have come back safely.
Avni and Prachi’s smile returns
Avni Mudgal and Prachi Mishra, residents of Bagh Mughalia, who are doing MBBS in Ukraine Kharkiv Medical University, were also worried about the situation in Ukraine. The smiles of both of them returned as soon as they stepped on the Raja Bhoj airport. During a discussion with Navdunia at the airport, Avni and Prachi said that coming here, it seems that our bad times have passed. As soon as the war was declared, both the girl students lost contact with the family. The journey from the city to the border could be completed in eight days. Father Akhilesh Mudgal and relative Deepak Sharma welcomed the girls at the airport.
