Atlanta Russian footballer Alexei Miranchuk kept his head down and celebrated the goal after scoring the last goal in a 4-0 win over Sampdoria in Serie A football. Miranchuk is a friend of Atlanta teammate Ruslan Malinovsky of Ukraine.

Ukrainian tennis player top seed Elina Svitolina said she would withdraw instead of facing a Russian rival at the Monterey tournament in Mexico. Svitolina wrote on Twitter on Monday that she would not play her first round match against Russia’s Anastasia Potapova.
She also said that she would not play any player from Russia or Belarus unless the WTA Women’s Tour, ATP Men’s Tour and the International Tennis Federation followed the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee to prevent these countries from playing under their national flag. Russia’s military attack on Ukraine marks the fifth day.
Svitolina said, ‘I do not blame any Russian player. They are not to blame for the attack on our motherland. Lesia Surenko, 32, of Ukraine also tweeted that she and other players were shocked and dissatisfied with the lack of response to the situation in their country.
ITF also imposed a ban
The ITF has indefinitely canceled tournaments on Russian soil and there will be no tournaments in Belarus this year either. A tournament scheduled for April in Ukraine has also been postponed.
World Taekwondo snatched Putin’s black belt
World Taekwondo has snatched Russian President Vladimir Putin’s taekwondo black belt over the attack on Ukraine. Russia’s attack on Ukraine by Taekwondo’s governing body is in opposition to the organization’s view that peace, respect and restraint are of great importance. Putin was awarded the 9th Dan Black Blatt in November 2013.
