New Delhi. Today is the birthday of the cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who is called the God of Cricket in the world of cricket. Born on 24 April 1973 in Mumbai, Sachin had achieved at a very young age, which very few people are able to achieve. The dream of many people remains only as a dream. Sachin wrote such a story with his bat, which is not only difficult but impossible for anyone to forget. There was a time when Sachin was not just a name but the heartbeat of the people. Sachin is such a person who has taken cricket to a new level in this country. An inspiration to many players, Sachin’s cricketing journey started from his childhood. At the age of 12, he scored a century while playing for his school in the Under-17 Harris Shield.
At the age of 14, he shared a record partnership of 664 runs with his friend Vinod Kambli. At the age of 15, he made his first-class debut for Mumbai and was included in the Indian team the very next year. In 1989, Sachin played his first test match against Pakistan in Karachi. At the age of 17, he scored his first Test century at the Old Trafford ground in England. Sachin became the youngest century player to play Test cricket for India.
Sachin did not stop doing wonders in the early stages of his career. His magic continued till date. In the year 2000, he achieved the status of the first cricketer to score 50 centuries in international cricket. In the year 2003, he scored 673 runs in the World Cup, which is the record for the most runs in a single World Cup. In 2008, Sachin became the highest run-scorer in Test cricket, beating Brian Lara. As he got older, his energy was also increasing.
At the age of 36, he scored a double century in ODI cricket. Sachin became the first cricketer to score a double century in men’s cricket. Sachin holds the record for scoring the most runs and centuries in both Tests and ODIs. Sachin is the only cricketer to score 100 centuries in international cricket. In 2013, he announced his retirement from international cricket at the Wankhede Ground in Mumbai.
