Sacrifice goats are being sold with plastic teeth
Karachi: Pakistan remains in the news all over the world due to some controversy or the other. Sometimes on the charge of nurturing terrorism and sometimes due to its economic condition. Meanwhile, a report by ARY News has revealed that goats were being sold in Pakistan with fake plastic teeth on the occasion of Bakrid. In Karachi, officials arrested a trader on Saturday for selling sacrificial goats with plastic teeth in the Gulberg Chowrangi area.
What is the whole matter?
A video went viral on social media in which a customer was seen removing the plastic teeth of a goat. Following this, the goat trader was arrested. The arrested trader was a resident of Hyderabad and had come to Karachi to sell animals for Bakrid.
During police interrogation, he admitted that he was involved in the sale of goats with plastic teeth. During this, the police have seized 7 goats. A police officer clarified, “We came to know from the video circulated on social media that goats with plastic teeth were being sold. After this, the trader was arrested.”
It is worth mentioning that Bakrid is on 17th June. This is a festival of Muslims in which they remember Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to God by sacrificing animals. The meat of these sacrifices is traditionally shared with family and people.
Based on the story of Prophet Ibrahim, this tradition involves animal sacrifices for three days during Eid celebrations.
