Avesh Khan changed the course of the match in the last over
Rajasthan Royals registered second win by defeating Delhi
New Delhi. Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Avesh Khan turned the tables in the last over in the 9th league match of IPL against Delhi Capitals. Avesh gave a memorable victory to Rajasthan Royals by spending only 4 runs on 6 balls. Delhi needed 17 runs in the last over but Avesh bowled brilliantly and turned the match in its favour. After the win, Avesh said that the last over he bowled against Delhi Capitals was probably his best effort in the ‘death overs’.
Avesh Khan baffled the batsmen of Delhi Capitals (RR vs DC) by bowling one yorker after another in the last over. Delhi batsmen could not understand Avesh’s yorker and Delhi lost the match by 12 runs. Lucknow Super Giants have ‘traded’ Avesh to Rajasthan Royals.
Scored a century on 36 balls… left the country… now New Zealand’s powerful all-rounder has entered the USA team.
This player will play for Team India in the next 2 years… For whom did Irfan Pathan predict?
‘I did not bowl the last over for the first time’
Avesh Khan has played eight ODI and 20 T20 matches. He said, ‘It is not that I have bowled the last over for the first time. Last year I did this against Rajasthan Royals. When I played for Delhi, I bowled the last over there also. But as far as execution was concerned, this was my best over. All the balls were ‘wide yorkers’ at the same place.
‘I used to bowl two overs in the powerplay’
The Rajasthan Royals fast bowler said that his role has changed in this season compared to the previous season. 27-year-old Avesh Khan said, ‘In Lucknow and Delhi Capitals, I used to bowl two overs in the powerplay. Here I am bowling two overs after the powerplay and also in the ‘death overs’ (last overs). The team management and Sanju Samson have given me complete freedom to implement my plan which is helping me. Sanju is a great captain in terms of bowlers.
