Kathmandu: Sanskrit language scholars from Nepal and India are now going to spread the light of the ancient language across the world on the international platform. Sanskrit scholars from both the countries will come together to make the world aware of the greatness and knowledge of Sanskrit language. The three-day “Nepal-India International Sanskrit Conference” began here on Wednesday to provide a common platform to Sanskrit scholars of both the countries and facilitate sharing of knowledge, experience and research findings between them.
According to the organizers, the international conference aims to discuss the global interest in Sanskrit and explore the impacts of the Sanskrit language on the cultural and education sectors of both countries. Energy and Water Resources Minister Shakti Basnet, while inaugurating the conference, said since Sanskrit language is rich in knowledge and science, there is a need to intensify cooperation between Nepal and India to share its benefits with the global community. . He emphasized that preserving and promoting Sanskrit language as a common property of Nepal and India can help in strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Global power will make India and Nepal ancient languages
Srinivas Barkhedi, vice-chancellor of Delhi-based Kendriya Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, said Sanskrit, being the language of science and ancient knowledge, can not only bind the two South Asian neighbours, but also transform both India and Nepal into global powers. There is influence of Hindu society and culture in both India and Nepal. This ancient language has been used in the religious texts of Hindus. Therefore, this program has been organized with the aim of promoting this language at the global level. So that the light of knowledge of Sanskrit language can reach the rest of the countries of the world. (Language)
