The two-day meeting of the opposition alliance INDIA in Mumbai ended on Friday. In this meeting, the leaders of the opposition have given a message of unity. However, conflict of interest was seen between the parties. In the meeting only the Lok Sabha elections were talked about and not the assembly elections.
Obviously, these three proposals are only announcements to get into the election campaign mode as soon as possible. The coordination committee of 13 members that has been announced is also very important. All major parties have been given a place in it and it will act as the highest decision-making body of this alliance. Through this announcement, an attempt has also been made to ensure that whatever issues are going to arise regarding the distribution of seats, they must arise, but do not become a reason for uncertainty or confusion in public. This has become less likely because a mechanism has been brought into existence to deal with these issues in the form of Co-ordination Committee. However, how difficult it is for parties with different ideologies, policies, agendas and interests to walk together, it also shows that the logo of the organization could not be released even after it was announced earlier. No name could be announced regarding the coordinator either. However, it should be assumed that more such disagreements will arise in the future. It is possible that differences may even take the form of estrangement. But if these parties stick to the announcements made in Mumbai, it is certain that they have become a common challenge to the ruling party. This is not a small thing for the politics of opposition space at the current juncture of Indian democracy.
