It is said that the struggle of the parents encourages the child to work hard. A similar inspiration was taken by Rohini of Maharashtra, who decided to become a collector herself after seeing her father getting hit by the collector’s office. It is noteworthy that to get any government paper signed, many rounds of government offices have to be made. Due to this many times the common people also get very upset. Rohini’s father also had to face some similar problems.
Coming from a farmer family in Maharashtra, Rohini got her primary education from primary school and got admission in Government Engineering College. After that he started preparing for the Civil Services Examination. Passed the IAS exam without the help of any private coaching. When Rohini was 9 years old, the government had started some schemes for the farmers, then Rohini’s father had to go to many government courts to take advantage of them. Due to which Rohini decided that she would serve the people by becoming the District Collector. When Rohini told her father about her dream, he was very happy and he persuaded his daughter to serve the people. Rohini became the first woman IAS officer of her district.
He was first appointed as Additional Collector and Project Officer in the District Rural Development Agency of Madurai and then as Director of Social Planning in Salem District. Rohini is quite famous among people for her beautiful nature and decency. Someone like Dad doesn’t need to make rounds to his office! She also works for women empowerment. Nowadays he goes to schools and makes people aware about their cleanliness.
