Belgrade : At least eight people were killed and 14 injured in a shooting incident late Thursday night in a town adjacent to Belgrade, Serbia. It was the second shooting incident in Serbia in two days when a gunman opened fire indiscriminately, killing eight people in three villages. Late on Thursday, an assailant opened fire on people in three villages near Mladenovac, some 50 km south of the capital. Police arrested a suspect after an overnight manhunt. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic called Thursday’s shootings an attack on the whole country. The attacker fired indiscriminately with an automatic weapon in the town of Mladenovac, 50 kilometers south of the capital, state television RTS reported on Friday. According to the news, the police are looking for the 21-year-old suspected attacker who has been absconding since the attack.

Officials on Thursday emphasized the promotion of gun control and police urged citizens to keep their weapons in a safe place and away from children.
