Survey team of Irrigation Department reached Jagdish Mandir Mala Phatak area regarding Madiya Dam of Bina Multipurpose Irrigation Project. As soon as the team arrived, there was a stir in the affected area of the city. The team said that seven houses of Jagdish Mandir area are coming under submergence. KL Kori of Irrigation Department along with his team stopped at number 81 FTL Mudi of Jagdish temple and left after surveying the surrounding houses. The team of journalists reached there only during the survey. Kori told that the houses around Jagdish temple are coming under submergence. Came here to survey him. As soon as this news spread, there was a stir in the city. When some houses of Jagdish Mandir area are coming under submergence, then how will Mandi, Mukarba Mahadevpura, Ishwar Nagar square, Parasari Mohalla be saved. In continuous rain, the water of the river used to come till the Jagdish Mandir Mala Phatak the whole time. Now some houses are getting submerged after the construction of the dam, so the round of discussions has started in the city. During the rainy season water can come up to Lal Chauraha. It is worth mentioning that when the survey of Madiya Dam started, three villages were said to be completely submerged and about 27 villages partially affected. Gradually this number reached 36 and now it has reached 47. The land of some villages of Garatganj tehsil is also being told to be submerged. Till now it was being told that the land on the banks of the river would be affected, no house would be submerged, but now some houses are being told to be submerged in the Jagdish Mandir area of the urban area itself. Due to which the round of discussions has started. Compensation is also being made after conducting a survey of the drowning houses.
Said earlier that no house will come under submergence
During the preliminary survey of the dam, the citizens were told by the responsible officials and public representatives of the area that no house in the city would come under the submergence area of the dam. The CM also went to the election meeting with an open platform to announce that no house in the tehsil would be allowed to sink. But all these things are proving to be aerial. In this regard, Irrigation Department Sagar in-charge KPL Kori says that some houses of Jagdish Mandir area are coming under the submergence of Madiya Dam. Their house has been surveyed and they will be given proper compensation.
