ukraine russia war After the Russian attack on Ukrainian soil, the eyes of the whole world are on the people trapped in Ukraine. Like other countries, a large number of Indian people are also trapped in Ukraine. The government has started Operation Ganga to bring them back safely. A large number of people have also reached back. However, the safe return of Indians is still a challenge in many areas. Students stranded in cities such as the capital Kyiv, Kharkiv and Sumy are short of resources. But a Pakistani youth came as a ray of light for the people trapped in the darkness of trouble. 2500 Indians were saved with the help of this young man.
According to a report in Rediff.com, SOS India founder Nitesh Kumar is taking Indian students stranded in war-torn areas of Ukraine to the western border. Nitesh was helped in this work by a Pakistani youth. When Nitesh thought of getting Indian students out of Ukraine, he didn’t know how it would happen. Nitesh knew that students needed lots of buses to reach the borders of Hungary, Poland, Slovakia or Romania. He talked to several tour operators to arrange them but without success. But Mohammad Azam Khan, a Pakistani citizen living in Ukraine, took the responsibility of helping him in this work.
Mohammad Azam is no less than a divine gift
According to the report, Nitesh said, ‘Azam was like a divine gift to our team. He is very helpful and did not take a single penny from Indian students. Azam arranged safe passage for 2500 Indian students. “When I rescued the first batch of Indian students, I didn’t know the crisis was so big,” Azam told Rediff, “I found my number going viral on several Indian WhatsApp groups.” After this, I started getting calls continuously in the middle of the night for the rescue operation. He said, ‘So far I have rescued 2500 Indian students.’
not taken money from many
Azam said that it is the most difficult thing for a foreigner to negotiate in Ukraine. Most of the people here speak Ukrainian or some people speak Russian. Very little English is spoken here. I spoke Urdu and most of the Indian students spoke English, so we connected very easily. English and Urdu are almost the same language, so we found it very easy. He said that I only used to take 20 to 25 dollars from him because I knew he did not have money to give. Many times it happened that I did not take money from them because they had run out of all the money.
example of india pakistan friendship
Azam said that the biggest thing is the prayers that the parents of these Indian students are sending me on my WhatsApp. Azam was asked how being a Pakistani, given the history of relations between the two countries, how did he feel about helping Indian students. In response, Azam said that you must have seen a video recently, in which the Indian women’s cricket team is seen playing with the child of a Pakistani player, it is love and humanity. Enmity is only politics, people of both countries love each other very much.
