The 28th match of IPL 2024 is being played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants. In this match, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first. After this, Lucknow Super Giants team came to bat first and scored 161 runs by losing 7 wickets in 20 overs and set a target of 162 runs for KKR to win. In this match, Shamar Joseph also made his IPL debut for Lucknow and Lucknow captain KL Rahul called Shamar Joseph to bowl the first over of the second innings. After this, the KKR batsmen welcomed him in a way which he had never imagined.

Shamar Joseph bowled the first over against Kolkata Knight Riders due to which his team was on the backfoot. He conceded a total of 22 runs in the first over, two of which were byes and was one of the most expensive overs by any player in the first over of his IPL debut. Shamar Joseph would not have even imagined that his IPL debut would be like this. Shamar Joseph is the same player who led his national team West Indies to win the historic test match against Australia. From there his name became famous all over the world.

24-year-old Shamar Joseph led his team to victory by taking 7 wickets in just 12 overs of bowling in the second innings of the day-night test against Australia. Earlier he had suffered an injury while batting. It seemed that he would not be able to bowl during the Australian innings but he showed courage and led his team to a historic victory. West Indies’ emphatic win over Australia in the second Test at the Gabba in Brisbane was their first win on Australian soil in 27 years.
